Italian music holds a very special place in the world of classical music. The Italian music is an inseparable part of its traditional cultural heritage. The history of Italian music dates back to the 16th century when it was growing into a world class phenomena. Different musical scales, notations and world famous lyrics were developed by Italian musicians. The tunes went on to be used in theatrical productions in Italy and for the development of Italian opera in the late 16th century.
Classical music, opera and folk music are important part of the country's musical heritage. The production of world music including modern European classical music like the concerto and symphony are based on the music of Italy. With time the Italian music has undergone a lot of changes and experimentations. Genres like Jazz, Rock and Hip Hop have come into play. Some of the eminent Italian musicians are Bob Dylan, Nilla Pizzi and Al Bano, Eros Ramazzotti and Laura Pausini, and many more. Italian music is the perfect blend of light and heavy-metallic songs.
